We were both in the President's Box for a game (I sure can't remember against who - it has been a while) and you had just had to deal with a lot of difficult stuff - including the awful shooting at the library. My first impression of Pres. Thrasher came in my first year: after Sen. Marco Rubio disrespected students and alumni of FSU, Thrasher defended us in appropriate fashion. Afterwards, I met Pres. Thrasher and First Lady Jean multiple times in my four years at Florida State, from sporting events, speaking engagements for campus organizations, and, of course, commencement. In each case, both displayed genuine warmth and interest in students and their lives. Thank you for your dedication!

As my son weighed his college options, I couldn't be more proud that he chose to be a 3rd-Generation Seminole. After four years and a fist-bump at graduation in April, I want to thank you for being there for all of our students. I won't forget meeting President Thrasher as an FSU undergrad. He had volunteered to support our FSU Relay for Life team and invited us to interview him in his office. It was surreal stepping into his office, and he was so enthusiastic about supporting us that we left with big smiles on our faces. At the end of the meeting, he asked me to keep in touch with him. As luck would have it, I got a job in the Westcott building shortly after, so I could regularly catch up with him in passing.
